Hello!!!
You were just the person I wanted to talk to!! I wanted to thank you for such an amazing trip. We had a blast, it was gorgeous! First off, our room was incredible. I would say with our personalities, I’m so glad we were on the beach side and not the hillside. Not that there was anything wrong with the hillside, it was quite spectacular as well, but we love! love! to have views of the ocean. We were much more active with this trip than St. Lucia, they had great events each night and we met 3 other couples we are quite fond of. So much so, all of us couples are planning a reunion trip for next summer (I’ll get to that later)! We loved our butlers, one was newer and the other was more seasoned. The newer one (Jermaine) forgot a few things, for instance we had asked for drinks by the pool and he never showed up. We also had asked for a dessert to be brought to our room since we were not able to finish it at the restaurant, he was supposed to grab it for us but he forgot. However on the positive side, he was super sweet and on the last day brought Josh 2lbs of their unopened Jamaican coffee to take home since he knew we loved it so much. Our other butler, such a sweet guy Stanford, he said he knew you!! He made the trip so worth it, going out of his way to make sure we were taken care of even if he had to stay way past 10pm at night to get things accomplished. I say that, he came to our room around 10:15pm to make his “nightly” towel art, as well as bring me sushi. He stayed to chat with us for about 30mins just about anything and everything. He was one of the nicest people we had met there.
We did the dolphin excursion, absolutely worth it!!! We got to pet them, ride belly to belly with them, and the most fun was having 2 dolphins push and balance you out across the water!! A perfect day. We did the Dunn’s river and that was a great experience as well! It was great to climb all the way up and get pics along the way, however it took a while to get used to how cold that water was!! As far as the club Mobay, I think the departure on the last day was well worth it, however I probably wouldn’t do the arrival again. We felt it was nice being our first time there, but not worth it. There were no lines and we got through just as fast as others who didn’t have access to it. Once we got through customs they rushed us into the club and said we had less than 2 mins to run to the restroom, get a snack and drink, because Sandals was about to leave. So there wasn’t any time to really unwind and enjoy it. The departure would be something we would do all the time. We got through customs and security pretty quickly, so it gave us more time to enjoy the club, sit, relax and snack before boarding our flight.
Overall the resort was fantastic! I feel like for the price, you get more bang for your buck there. We were never bored! We went snorkeling on resort and got to see several squid as well as a giant spotted stingray! Best. Snorkeling. Ever.!! They took great care of us as returning members, went to their select dinner and they gave each of us bottles of their Appleton Rum to take home! We were so taken back by their kindness, we love LOVE sandals. The only thing I would say, regarding the resort, was that the beach wasn’t big enough. Not like St. Lucia. They had 2 little areas sectioned off to swim in but it was crowded and wasn’t big enough to really just enjoy. But that was it!
We love Jamaica, loved the resort and the people! I don’t think we would have changed a thing on our trip. When we got there we had a little note from you with chocolate covered fruits, thank you so much, that meant a lot to us! I took a picture of it (and kept the note as a keepsake), which I will be posting on FB for anyone to go through you for their travels. You are always there for us, we appreciate all you do! I’m attaching some pics with this email that you may absolutely post on Facebook!! Pics: view from on top of the terrace restaurant, us with our sandcastle, and the last 2 pics are from Dunn’s River falls.
Thanks for all you do, you are so very special to us! I look forward to chatting with you!

A very dear and special client sent the following story to me and I had to share it with the world so you too can have goosebumps and tears!

“This is kind of a long story but bear with me….

In October 1985 (I was 21) I was asked to go on a trip to Galveston by a man name Philip Hawker (he was 38). I had never been anywhere but Tennessee, on vacations as a child, to see my grandmother so I said yes I would go.

He flew us to Houston and then we rented a car and drove to Galveston. It was late at night but I still took it all in….going over the causeway made it seem as if I was traveling to another place…no longer Texas.

We stayed at a hotel on the Seawall. The name of the hotel was the Key Largo. It was so pretty and almost magical to me. I remember the lobby smelled like flowers it was the most amazing smell! There were waiters at the pool and they wore black shorts and white button down shirts. They carried white towels on their arms and they would take my drink order and my drink always came back on a tray.   It had a swim up bar and a waterfall. Inside the lobby was a black piano and I loved sitting and listening to someone play at night. It had glass elevators on the outside of the building. It was a magical place for me.

Prior to this the only place I had ever stayed was a Days Inn or Motel 6 while traveling to Tennessee.

Philip and I went back several times and stayed at Key Largo. I married him in 1986 and Steven was born in 1989 and we divorced in 1998 but we remain friends.   I have gone back to Galveston several times since Philip and I divorced but I never stay at the old Key Largo.

Now the reason for my long story…you just booked my son a room for his honeymoon at what use to be the Key Largo hotel. What a COINCIDENCE!!!!! When he sent me the link I laughed so hard. I told him this story and he said this makes even more special to stay there. I also told him to look around his Dad’s as there are probably tons of pictures of us there.

AND….this is why I think you are such an awesome person …you are the person that can make magic happen

Have an AWESOME day pretty lady!

  Sheila”

Hi Bette, Thanks for everything– we had a marvelous trip. EVERYTHING was perfect. Our flight from DFW to Fairbanks was long but great. The train trip from Fairbanks to Denali was the best— our group had a glass covered coach and only about 1/2 full.
